Discovering Secrets
Discovering Secrets
I feel the satiny-soft touch
Of feather-light grass between my fingers,
As I walk down an unknown path covered in mud and pebbles,
Eager to discover my surroundings.
I listen to the chirp of crickets and the call of birds,
Soaring high above, among the puffy, cottony clouds.
With a hat o’er my head and my hair let loose,
I breathe in the scent of the fragrant air
As I gaze upon the setting sun.
With every step, I see nature reveal itself to me.
Blue skies turning to shades of yellow and pink,
Through each turn of seconds into minutes and hours.
I blink for a moment to take the sights in,
And the sky is no longer a blank canvas,
As twinkling stars emerge from hiding.
A drama unfolds in the sky,
Through the flash of colors and dark-grey clouds,
A sight of sparkling diamonds in the night.
I come back to my senses of the time that passed
And I gaily skip back home,
Through the path, I now know.
Nice
